Setting Up SAP Business One for Cambodian Riel

In short
SAP Business One tracks exchange rates per currency and date, and its Service Layer API can be written to directly on the HANA edition. RielSync uses that endpoint to write the National Bank of Cambodia's published KHR/USD rate in automatically each evening.
SAP Business One handles multi-currency accounting through a rate table keyed by currency and date, used across sales, purchasing, and financial reporting. For a Cambodian business, that table needs to reflect the National Bank of Cambodia's official published rate on each date, not a generic market feed, for the books to hold up against local tax and audit expectations.
Where the rate lives in SAP Business One
Exchange rates are set under Administration → Exchange Rates and Indexation, and can also be written programmatically through the Service Layer API's currency-rate endpoint. Without an automated feed pointed at NBC specifically, the rate has to be looked up and entered by hand for each date.
The HANA edition detail
SAP Business One's Service Layer, which is what an automated integration writes through, is available on the HANA edition. If your deployment runs the SQL Server edition instead, an automated rate-write integration is not available the same way, and that is worth checking before assuming automated sync is possible for your specific setup.
Automating it with RielSync
On the HANA edition, RielSync connects to the Service Layer API. Each evening it records NBC's published rate, checks it against recent history to catch anything that looks like an error rather than a real move, and writes it into the exchange rate table against the correct date. Sales, purchasing, and reporting use it exactly as they would a manually entered rate.
Beyond SAP Business One
The same sync also covers Odoo, SambaPOS, QuickBooks Online, and Zoho Books, with custom integrations available for other platforms with an API. See how it works or pricing to get started.
FAQ
Does this work on the SQL Server edition of SAP Business One?
Automated writes go through the Service Layer API, which is available on the HANA edition. If you're on SQL Server, talk to us before assuming automated sync is available for your setup.
What happens on a day NBC doesn't publish a rate?
Nothing is written, and the previous rate is never reused in its place. Weekends and public holidays show as a gap, not a stale value.
Does this work with platforms other than SAP Business One?
Yes. Odoo, SambaPOS, QuickBooks Online, and Zoho Books are also supported out of the box, with custom integrations available for other platforms with an API.
