How to Manage Multi-Currency KHR/USD in Zoho Books

RielSync Team · 6 min read · Updated August 31, 2026

In short

Zoho Books can hold a KHR exchange rate for every day you need one, but by default that rate has to be entered manually. RielSync writes the National Bank of Cambodia's published rate into Zoho Books automatically each evening.

Zoho Books supports multiple currencies, and its API exposes a dedicated endpoint for setting the exchange rate on a given currency for a given date. That is what makes it possible to keep a specific, dated rate on record rather than a single rolling figure, which matters for a business that needs its books to reflect the exact NBC rate that applied on the day of each transaction.

Where the rate lives in Zoho Books

Exchange rates in Zoho Books are managed per currency, under Settings → Currencies, with a rate that can be set for a specific date. Without a feed pointed at NBC specifically, someone still has to look the rate up each day and enter it against the right date by hand.

What the manual routine looks like

  1. 01Check the National Bank of Cambodia's site for the day's published rate.
  2. 02Open Zoho Books and set the exchange rate for that currency and date.
  3. 03Repeat every working day, since NBC publishes a new rate each one.

Automating it with RielSync

RielSync connects to Zoho Books' currency API. Each evening it records NBC's published rate, checks it against recent history to catch anything that looks like an error rather than a real move, and writes it into Zoho Books against the correct date. Invoices and reports use it exactly as they would a manually entered rate, because it is the same field.

Beyond Zoho Books

The same sync also covers Odoo, SambaPOS, QuickBooks Online, and SAP Business One, with custom integrations available for other platforms with an API. See how it works or pricing to get started.

FAQ

Does RielSync change how Zoho Books handles currency conversion?

No. It writes into the same per-date exchange rate Zoho Books already supports. Nothing changes about how invoices or reports work.

What happens on a day NBC doesn't publish a rate?

Nothing is written, and the previous rate is never reused in its place. Weekends and public holidays show as a gap, not a stale value.

Is Zoho Books the only platform this works with?

No. Odoo, SambaPOS, QuickBooks Online, and SAP Business One are also supported out of the box, with custom integrations available for other platforms with an API.
